A Brush with Kindness
Habitat for Humanity of Castle County provides critical home repairs through a program known as A Brush with Kindness (ABWK). ABWK works to eliminate substandard, inadequate, and/or unhealthy living conditions within Carbon and Emery Counties by fixing the housing burden utilizing ABWK staff and volunteers.
ABWK serves low-income homeowners and focuses on exterior repairs, including painting, roof repairs, accessibility, landscaping, and exterior clean-up. Staff members and volunteers work alongside the homeowner to revitalize the appearance of the home. Families’ eligibility is based on their need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner with Habitat. Zero interest payments made by the partner family for the cost of the project are placed into a revolving fund to help future ABWK families in need.
We are also always looking for volunteers to help out with these home repair projects. We welcome all ages, skill levels, and group sizes. Visit our volunteer page to be added to our volunteer list!
